iphone 4s no signal after screen changed

This iPhone 4S was brought to us after it had a screen replacement carried out by a local company that advertises iPhone repairs, When the customer brought it to us they said it had worked fine part from broken screen (which had been broken for months) when they got it back with the new screen they then complained of a signal issue and the battery was draining very quickly, when i heard this i suspected board damage right away caused by technician that had been repairing the handset,  Below is a picture of the area that was damaged from a fully working phone, so this will give you an idea of what its suppose to look like

iphone 4s signal fault

Now that you have seen what its suppose to look like now i will post a pic of the damaged board, with the repairs carried out to it so it will work again. you will see there is a large capacitor missing which was caused by the person who fitted the screen and also 2 small blue filters missing meaning the phone will never get signal with out these filters,

You will notice the 2 blue filters are missing and have been bridged to return the signal to the iPhone, also you will see there is a large cap missing, below the right hand pad of the cap you see another cap missing, this cap was removed by iPhone Bits as it was causing a short meaning the battery discharged very quickly, the caps can be left of as there are merely filtering stuff which does not make a noticeably difference to me or you (the end user)

If you have any questions about iPhone 4S No Signal after screen change  replacement then please contact us as we may be able to help

iPhone 4s NAND error Boot Loop

If you are reading this you probably have came across the NAND error which just seems to randomly appear on the iPhone 4s and stops the iPhone from booting then it hangs in a boot loop, the error will look something like the examples below

(NAND) _findflashmediaandkeepout: 600 physical nand block offset 1

(NAND) start: 355 this 0x9e36e300 PROVIDER = 0x9e3e9400 falshmedia = 0x9e3e9400

(NAND) WMR_Start: 149 PNN Apple NAND Driver, Read / Write

(NAND) WMR_Start: 174 FIL_INT (OK)

[nand] WMR_Open:371  VFL_Open   [OK]

Il start be explaining what the NAND is, so the NAND is the name giving to the on board memory that your iPhone has, so the part you know as the 16gb or 32 gb is the NAND Chip or IC, taking this information into consideration basiclly what you have is a memory error thats appearing on your iphone 4s, the NAND ic is pictured below

Toshiba THGVX1G7D2GLA08 16 GB 24 nm MLC NAND flash memory

The error message will look like the example below, not very clear but it gives you the general idea and you can compare it to yours to see if its the same error you are having, it will be a few lines of text at the top left hand side of the screen and below will be the apple logo which will keep rebooting

iphone 4s nand error

iphone 4s NAND error

i have personally came across the error message a few times now and managed to repair it each time it has happened, i will explain below what i done to repair the error message,

Each time i have came across the error message i have turned the phone of, opened it up and disconnected everything possible, apart from dock and lcd, when i booted the iPhone up it went into the OS with out any problems, so this told me the error had something to do with the cable that i had disconnected from the motherboard , the process then is to plug each cable back in 1 by 1 to see what happens when you boot the phone, each time i have done this the fault has been the power cable,

When i replace the power cable the fault leaves the phone, strange but true, give this a try and dont forget to leave a comment to let us know how you got on

iPhone 4 Mic Not Working Audio IC Compiler Fitting Service

iPhone 4 Mic Not Working

The iPhone 4 is a wonderful device and although a bit slow at processing task it is one of my favourite Apple devices, one large down fall it has is the Audio IC Compiler , this is an IC made by Audience, the IC is designed to control noise when on calls, this is why you only have an issue with your iPhone 4 mic not working  when on a call, if you go into to voice memo you will notice that your iPhone 4 mic will still function as normal, so although this IC plays a big part in noise cancelation when on calls and does an excellent job, its not without its faults either.

UnderStanding iPhone 4 Mic Not Working On Calls

The iphone 4 mic  fault usually starts of with the mic being the first thing you will notice to show fault, which is why we call it “iphone 4 mic fault” it then eventually gets worse and spreads to the earpiece and eventually loudspeaker, so at the minute you are probably noticing that your mic does not work during calls but if you switch to loudspeaker then people can now hear you again, this is quite normal for this fault. a good way of checking that it is your audio ic thats at fault is to go into your voice memo app and make a voice recording, if you can hear the recording then this is a sure sign that your iPhone 4 audio ic is faulty. other symptoms of this fault is crackling in the earpiece or the person you are talking with complain that you sound crackly to them, Below is a picture showing this IC on the iPhone 4 motherboard and where it is positioned on the logic board.

iPod Will Not Charge or Turn On Or Power On

iPod Will Not Charge Or Turn On

Hello Folks, if your iPod will not charge or turn on then please lets get some help. there is quite a few reasons as to why this can happen, what we will do is go through the easiest most likely cause first to see if that cures the problem and then if it hasn’t ,if you continue to read on, then we will progress to the not so easily fixed reasons why your iPod will charge or power on,

Number One Reason iPod Will Not Charge Or Turn On

Right this is the most likely reason that your iPod will not charge or turn on and its also the easiest to fix, is  to perform a SOFT RESET, to do this hold in the power button and the home button on your iPod together for 10 seconds as pictured below.

ipod will not charge

iPod reset

This is called a SOFT RESET and is the most likely reason your iPod will not charge or connect to  iTunes, if your iPod Is now working then congratulations on fixing your iPod please leave a comment to let others know that this has worked for you.

iPod will not charge?

Ok if that did not work for you then here are some more things to check before we proceed, before this happened to your iPod, did you notice if your power button or home button where not as response as they use to be? what i`m getting at is maybe you need to press the buttons a little harder to complete the SOFT RESET, if either your power button or your home button where not working before this happened then you will need to get them repaired before you have any chance of reviving your iPod from the dead, if you need some help getting this fixed then visit this link to get a quote for repairing the fault buttons iPod repair.

iPod will not charge Or Powering On?

if you have got to this point and your iPod will not charge,  then you are not having much luck but we will not give up, lets get you some help and fast! so we now know that your iPod home button and power button are working fine and that the soft reset did not help bring your iPod back to life again, the next things you wold need to check is the dock connector on the iPod,

ipod will not charge

First of all have a look at the dock connector to see if there is any dirt blocking the charging pins or if any of the pins are damaged, if it is damaged and you need some help or advice with this or a repair carried out, then click iPod will not charge , if the pins look ok and the connector is clean and you are unaware of any previous faults with the dock then the next step would be to try a different charger and charging lead, also try connecting it to iTunes to see if it lights up or responds. if you get a response at this point but the iPod is still not working then give us a call and let us know what the fault is and  we will give you some free advise 07731446515.

iPod will  not charge?

If at this point your iPod is still not charging then there is not much you can do from this point unless you opening it up, the iPod range can be quite tricky to open without damage and only undertake this if you are confidant or don’t mind damaging your iPod. from here the next things i would be trying is first of all try replacing the battery, make sure and buy your replacement battery form a reputable place as there is a lot of dud batterys in circulation, when you get your new battery if you have a tester, put the tester on it to make sure it is reading at 3.6v if its any less then the battery will most likely not work. other things i would try is to test the fuse on the logic board of the iPod and the charging coil , for further help with this please post your progress below and i will reply with some help

Best of luck with this fault, iPod will not charge or turn on

First Smartphone From Amazon Will Be Released in 2013

We all know how popular Amazon’s Kindle and Kindle Fire devices have been and still people love to get one of those due to their amazing features and low prices. Of course when Amazon entered the tablet market, it was just a matter of time when they started working on their own smartphones as well. We have been hearing various rumors about the company working on a smartphone and now we have heard latest report that has confirmed that Amazon is already producing its own smartphone and it will be released in the middle of 2013.

Currently, we already know that Samsung and Apple are the top smartphone manufacturers of the world and their flagship devices go head to head in the market. But when the Kindle Fire tablet was first launched by Amazon last year, it made new sales records. So, after that when Amazon will bring its own smartphone, we can really expect some surprises from the company.

In the recent times, the technology has been progressing at a very fast pace and almost every other big company is entering the mobile market. So, it would not surprise us if Amazon also enters the big race of smartphones by releasing its new device. But according to the latest report from Taiwan Economic News, we have found out that the smartphone from Amazon is already under production at Foxconn factories. Foxconn is currently producing the units in high quantity as Amazon has ordered the China based manufacturer to deliver 5 million units of the new device. Keeping in mind the prices of Kindle Fire, it is highly expected that the price of Amazon smartphone will lie somewhere between $100 and $200.

We all know that Amazon’s most of the consumer base is due to its affordable and reasonable pricing of its products and the company even took loss by selling the original Kindle fire at a low cost to promote the product. It seems like Amazon does not care about getting high revenues from the sale of the devices, but Amazon usually get their desired revenue by selling online content to all those new users which is a brilliant idea.

Amazon was the manufacturer that brought the revolution in the tablet market by bringing a low cost tablet and then Google and Apple had to follow its lead and now this new smartphone from the company will also be able to make some big changes in the current scenario of mobile industry.

Iconia B1 Is an Affordable Tablet from Acer With Android 4.1

If someone is looking for an affordable tablet in the market, there is no doubt that he will go for the Google Nexus 7 which is undoubtedly the best affordable tablet available in the market. Of course it does not mean that we don’t have any other options or any other manufacturer is not trying to compete with it. Let’s take the example of Acer, as the company has prepared a brand new and a very affordable Android powered tablet device which will bring a 7 inch display screen.

acer tablets

This new tablet from Acer will be called Acer Iconia B1 and a little while ago Acer sent it to get passed from FCC. We don’t know much about the insides of the device right now but according to the FCC report, it seems like this device will be coming with some sort of cellular connectivity as well. When we take a look at the diagrams from the FCC site, they show that the Iconia B1 tablet offers a SIM card slot. Well, we could not find any further info about the specs of the device from FCC filing but GLBenchmark database has something more for us.

Specifications

According to the data found from GLBenchmark database, we have found out that this new tablet from Acer will be coming with a decent 1.2GHz processor and it will also come with a PowerVR SGX 531 GPU under the hood. The 7 inch screen in the Acer Iconia B1 will offer a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. In addition to that, we weren’t able to find anything that impressive in the specs of the device. The only thing that makes this device a little appealing will be the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean coming out of the box.

According to another source, the 1.2GHz processor is a dual core and it also features 512MB of RAM. That’s not it, the device will be coming with 8GB of Internal memory as well as a microSD card slot for further expansion. Other features of Iconia B1 include Mediatek SoC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi.

We don’t know about the release date or the price tag of the device yet. But this device is supposed to be a very affordable tablet which means that its price tag will be pretty decent and it will be appreciated by all the budget conscious consumers. Acer is yet to officially announce this new tablet which is expected in early next year.

How to Fix WiFi Connectivity Issues in Samsung Galaxy S III

Even in these modern times where technology has become so advanced, our latest gadgets do not come without flaws. Yes, most of our new and latest technology devices usually are not perfect and come with a few issues. Same is the case with Samsung’s latest flagship device, Galaxy S III, as many of the owners of Galaxy S III have complained that they are facing issues with the WiFi connectivity of the device. Apparently, this new Galaxy S III has a bug which loses the WiFi connection very often and it is a real problem for so many users who rely on Wi-Fi internet for their smartphone.

Well, our talented Android developers and enthusiasts are always working on a fix for such problems and this one is not an exception either. As we have found out that one the members at XDA Developers, felixchris was able to find a fix to this WiFi roaming bug found in the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone.

You have to keep in mind that the Galaxy S III has three different WiFi roaming bugs but the solution we are going to discuss here today will be solving one of those three. According to Felix Chris, when you take your device closer to AP2 and its signal strength increases and at the same time the WiFi icon disappears and reappears just like that, then you are really facing one of the WiFi roaming bugs and he has brought a quick and effective solution for this problem.

Now, to apply this patch there are several ways available and you can choose any of them. First one, which is also the long one, will require you to boot a custom recovery while you can choose the other method and flash a zip in the custom recovery to solve your WiFi roaming issue. Both are pretty effective but the first one will take a little longer than the second one, but choice is yours.

We all know that how important WiFi has become in our daily lives as most of us cannot afford the expensive data packages. So, that is the reason why most of the users mostly rely on WiFi connections when they are at Home or Work. Galaxy S III is a great device but if it features problems with the WiFi connectivity, which is one of the most basic and important need of the users, then something really needs to be done to fix that.
